In one week we will start a second round of Praying the Psalms, Wednesday nights at 6 PM. This is a good opportunity to checkout small group ministry. Unlike most of our Growth Groups that work through a book or study guide and each week builds upon the last, each week of Praying the Psalms stands alone. So if you can’t commit to being there each week or you just want to drop in to check it out, this is the one for you. Below are a list of the Psalms we’ll be looking at this time and some questions to help guide you preparation for participation. Praying the Psalms Psalms 104, 143, 77, 10, 86, 63 Looking to the Holy Spirit inspired words of the psalms, let us learn how to praise God, confess our sins, express our feelings, and make our requests to God. As we read and meditate on the psalms try to answer the following questions: What are the circumstances the psalmist is facing? What emotions does the psalmist express? How does this psalm apply to or connect with your life? What do we learn about God from this psalm? For what is God praised? What appeals or requests are made to God? What lessons can we learn from this psalm? Informed by God’s word, let us pray. Notice how God is addressed, described, and praised. Notice how the psalmist honestly pours out his heart to God. Follow the psalmist’s pattern and compose your own prayer to God.
