A note from Pastor Randall

Hello Port Clyde Christian Church!

It’s good to be back. Thank you for the tremendous opportunity of a sabbatical. I was able to accomplish rest and reading, which along with prayer has been restorative. The evidence is in my eagerness to return to my pastoral work among you. Though, we’re still figuring out what that will look like during the current worldwide crisis. As part of the leadership team I assure you, we appreciate your prayers concerning the work we have to do.

The sabbatical was also a good opportunity to visit other churches, to worship with brothers and sisters who may do some things differently than us. There was much that was familiar in each order of service, but there was a different feel or personality to each congregation. While it was insightful to visit other churches, it was also disruptive to not be with our covenanted church family each week. We missed those whom we know and love, and who know and love us. And while we can say good things about the services we visited, we also missed our faithful and talented musicians, and the faithful Bible teaching we are used to. The Thissells are looking forward to being back together with the saints of the Port Clyde Christian Church.

While we cannot gather together as we are accustomed to, we can and must continue to love and encourage one another. We hope to deliver Bible teaching via online video on the Sundays we can’t meet. We can also make use of video conferencing to stay connected and to pray. And though none of this can replace being face to face, I would encourage using the phone to stay in touch, and to be the church, a body of believers who loves and cares for each other.

We have also received questions about how folks can continue to support the church through financial giving. For now the best way is simply to mail checks to:
