I have been drawn to the books of Acts, 1 Peter, and Daniel as I become more aware of the alienation of the church in our culture. This is not a time for desperation or panic, but of realization and faith.
We realize that our alienation is nothing new. As our minds are informed by the Scriptures we learn how the people of God’s kingdom are to live in the kingdoms of this world. We put our faith in God who reigns, who brings His plan to pass.
Will you holdfast to God and His commands when this world brings all its might against you and insists that you conform to its pattern?
Digging deeper than the familiar stories of Daniel and his friends, fiery furnaces and lions, we’ll find a reminder and encouragement to withstand the world in pursuit of and faithfulness to our Sovereign God.
