As we begin a new year, it’s always a natural time to reevaluate our lives, see where changes need to be made, what plans do we have for the next year, where have we made progress and where do we need to focus more attention.
Often we need these times of reflection to reconsider the things we may take for granted. Maybe we’re stuck in a routine but the Christian life is one of purpose – what we do must have meaning, a reason, and sometimes we need to be reminded of those reasons for doing.
For instance, why does the Church exist? Believers around the world meet regularly for “church” but what is the Church’s purpose? Why do we attend on a Sunday morning? Are we just checking off a box of another weekly commitment, fulfilling a requirement simply by sitting in a pew for an hour?
Join us on Sundays this winter for a look at the church’s purposes, Biblical pictures of the church, and three marks of the church.
